Can I get into Georgetown University?

Can I get into Georgetown University?

The question

I am very interested in going to Georgetown University. My UNWEIGHTED GPA at the end of high school will probably be about a 3.94 and SATs of 2100. I am in Math Is Cool as a First place team member multiple times, Band and pep band-I play clarinet and oboe, Key Club, Drama Club-Secretary, Varsity Cross Country, 4-H with several champion awards, 4-H Know Your Government program, National Honor Society, and I will be going to Europe in 2012 with the Washington Ambassadors of Music band on the Europe Concert Tour, which required a special sanction from your band director. I am also a math tutor. I am a mentor for deprived children, too. A member of my church is Stanford Alumni and he is going to write me a letter of sanction (will that help?). I want to go into law but I know that is a common career path. If I applied as a music major, would it contribute to the diversity factor and increase my chances of being accepted? This is what I can reckon of right now. Do you reckon this is enough to get me into Stanford?
I also take many advanced classes like Concurrent Credit Chemistry and Concurrent Credit Advanced Chemistry(both for which I receive college credit), Concurrent Credit English(College Credit) and Advanced math classes like Algebra 2 as a Freshman, Pre-Calc as a Junior(Skipped Sophmore year due to extra credits) and AP Calc as a Senior. My foreign language for high school is French. Also, what are my chances of being accepted into Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, or Columbia? Thanks!

Your pitiful SAT score (2100) is below average for Georgetown.
You have a chance, although you certainly want to bring up your SAT score. Your extra-curriculars certainly seem excellent so you need to make sure you continue doing well in academics. You’re going to need to take as many AP and Honors classes as possible. If you have a choice between AP, Honors, of Regular levels of the same class you NEED to always pick the highest. GU is incredibly competitive and only those who push themselves have a shot, which it seems like you have. Even so, Georgetown denies many qualified people simply because so many people who are qualified apply.

Your chances of the those colleges are slim. You really need a 2300+ on the SAT and even then you can’t be sure. I know people with 35′s on the ACT and 2300 on the SAT who’ve been rejected. Although I encourage applying anyway. You have nothing to lose if you don’t get in, and everything to gain if you do.

Considering you have a lot of words in your questions (means a lot of achievements) ==> yes, you may
I reckon your GPA is holding you down. I know people with 4.6 GPA’s that have been rejected.
Well below average for Harvard — especially your pitiful SAT score (2100).
Everyone applying to the top schools has the highest grades in the toughest classes and very high test scores, and Harvard took fewer than 5% of applicants this year. Frankly, your chances are not excellent. You don’t have anything on your attention that’s going to make you stand out above everyone else applying, and you didn’t mention why you want to go to a top school or how it would help you (the vast majority of students won’t benefit from it).

I reckon you have a lot going for you but your gpa will kill it. You should have around a 4.3 to have a excellent shot. Unless that is your unweighted gpa? Also you should have some kind of placement in an international struggle or have started something influential/have leadership for an ivy league/Stanford. But your stats are really excellent still apply but have some back ups. I would say you have a excellent shot at something like Georgetown.
They are very competitive colleges that accept only a small percentage of students. Many valedictorians don’t even get accepted. That said, I reckon you stand a reasonable chance of being accepted. By the way, what is the new SAT scale. When I took it, 1600 was as high as it went.
