College and Student Loan help!!! ): ?

the pamphlet I got from the community college I will be attending in the spring said that student loans only go up to $ 2000 per academic year…. um whaatt???
that’s fine for this semester but what am I supposed to do for fall 2011 into spring 2012 with only $ 2000 ?!?!?!
I’m so confused. or does academic year mean per semester? how can I get through college with only $ 2000 a year?? I’m freaking out. I don’t qualify for fafsa or any scholarships so is there anything else I can do for money?? any other loans? ):

“Academic year” means two semesters, not just one. It appears that you may need to get a job to earn what you need.
Each “academic year” includes the Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer semesters.
I know it’s hard to fathom, but it’s called “Get A Job” – plenty of kids do.
